Our commitment to serving children doesn't end when they graduate from high school. Through our annual scholarship program, we help local students take the next step in their education while recognizing the qualities at the heart of Kiwanis: character, service, and a commitment to making our community better.

Kiwanis of Monroe will award scholarships to 2027 graduating seniors from Union County.

Kiwanis of Monroe will award scholarships to 2027 graduating seniors from Union County.
The scholarships are intended for students who demonstrate strong character, a commitment to community service, and the academic potential to succeed in college. Special consideration is given to students who may have limited access to financial assistance from other sources.
Recipients may attend the college or higher-education institution of their choice.
Funds will be paid directly to the recipient's college at the beginning of the student's first year and may be used toward:
- Tuition
- Books
- Room and board
Applicants must:
- Be a resident of Union County
- Be a graduating high school senior
- Attend a public school, private school, or homeschool program
What Are We Looking For?
Scholarship finalists will be selected based on:
Academics
Evidence of academic achievement and the potential for success in higher education.

Character
Personal qualities that demonstrate integrity, responsibility, and strong character.

Community Service
A demonstrated commitment to serving others and making a positive difference.

A thoughtful response to one of the essay topics included with the application.
How the Selection Process Works
The Kiwanis of Monroe Scholarship Committee will review all complete applications and select a group of finalists.

How the Selection Process Works
The Kiwanis of Monroe Scholarship Committee will review all complete applications and select a group of finalists.
Each finalist will then be invited to participate in a personal interview with the Scholarship Committee. Following the interviews, the committee will select the three scholarship recipients.

Congratulations to our 2022 Scholarship Recipients! Not only did both graduate top of their class, they balanced their education with extracurricular activities and community service.
Isabella Falcone of Union Academy Charter School will be attending The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
